data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/christmas\/\">Christmas<\/a> number one was thrown wide open on Friday morning when a TV behemoth launched her brand-new Christmas single.<\/p>\n<p>Marmite children’s cartoon character <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/peppa-pig\/\">Peppa Pig<\/a> – who has threatened to capture the festive top spot before – announced her intentions on <a data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/good-morning-britain\/\">Good Morning Britain<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hosts <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/kate-garraway\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">Kate Garraway<\/a> and Rob Rinder interrupted their schedule by alerting viewers to the fact that there was ‘news from Peppaland’ of an urgent nature.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Arnold, GMB’s Entertainment Editor, hinted at the big news: ‘Yes, Peppa Pig has woken us up early on Good Morning Britain, but what could the nation’s favourite pig be up to?’<\/p>\n<p>Peppa then teased the news herself via voiceover, saying: ‘Good morning, Britain. I thought the sausage roll one was bad enough. STOP!’<\/p>\n<p>SC added: ‘Christmas music is the worst ever made. I love Robbie Williams, but it\u2019s going to be a bit awkward when I steal Christmas number one from him.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Peppa didn’t stop there: ‘And all the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/john-lewis\/\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\">John Lewis<\/a> adverts. I mean, it\u2019s absolutely insane.
