Celebrity tributes have been pouring in after it was announced that Ricky Hatton<\/a> had died at the age of 46<\/a>, with Liam Gallagher<\/a> declaring it an ‘honour’ to have known him.<\/p>\n

The British boxing legend<\/a>’s death was announced on September 14, with reports that the star was found dead at his home in Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n

A statement from the Greater Manchester Police revealed the news and added: ‘There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.\u2019<\/p>\n

Taking to X, Oasis member Liam wrote:\u00a0‘Absolutely devastated to hear the news about RICKY HATTON it was an absolute honour to know him and carry his belts RIP CHAMP LIVE FOREVER LG x.’<\/p>\n

Gallagher brothers Liam and Noel famously carried Hatton’s world title belts into the ring in 2008 before he fought Paulie Malignaggi in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n

Speaking previously about the Wonderwall hitmakers, Hatton said: ‘Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a boxing world champion, support Man City and listen to Oasis.<\/p>\n

‘But I became a four-time world champion in two weight classes, ended up boxing at the Etihad Stadium in front of 55,000 people, and became mates with Noel and Liam Gallagher over the years.’ <\/p>\n

Amir Khan<\/a> joined in with tributes online to the late boxer, sharing an emotional tribute about mental health<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n

‘Today we lost not only one of Britain\u2019s greatest boxers<\/a>, but a friend, a mentor, a warrior, Ricky Hatton. As fighters, we tell ourselves we\u2019re strong \u2014 we train, we sweat, we take hits, we get up. But sometimes the hardest fight happens in silence, in the mind.<\/p>\n

Mental health<\/a> isn\u2019t weakness. It\u2019s part of being human. And we must talk about it. We must reach out. We must lean on each other. Ricky, thank you for everything. For your fights, your moments of glory, your grit. Thank you for pushing us, showing us what\u2019s possible. To everyone reading this: if you\u2019re hurting or struggling, you are not alone.<\/p>\n

Piers Morgan<\/a> also shared: ‘RIP Ricky \u2018The Hitman\u2019 Hatton, 46. Found dead at his home in Manchester, police say no suspicious circumstances. What incredibly sad news.’<\/p>\n

Sir David Beckham added on his Story that Hatton was ‘one of a kind’, writing: ‘Ricky was special in many ways… Loved by his fans’.<\/p>\n

The football legend further shared a quote from the sporting star, reading: ‘As long as I’ve got the love of the fans, that means everything to me’.<\/p>\n

Tommy Fury uploaded two photos of himself with Hatton, his caption saying: ‘Heartbroken doesn\u2019t even come close. I turned pro with you by my side Ricky and you\u2019ll always be a massive part of my journey in boxing and in life.’<\/p>\n

Michael Owen said: ‘RIP Ricky Hatton. What a guy. And what a fighter. Incredibly sad news.’<\/p>\n

Professional boxer Anthony Fowler said: ‘Feel sick RIP RICKYHATTON.’<\/p>\n

TV personality Kerry Katona admitted that she had ‘no words’, writing in a caption: ‘Literally have no words absolutely devastated and heartbroken rest in peace my friend keep reading our last texts and the banter and just that feeling of helplessness’.<\/p>\n

The presenter announced the news, before playing Frank Sinatra’s version of Blue Moon and didn’t return to the airwaves before Elaine Page began to play her show. <\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram with a photo of himself alongside Hatton in the ring, pop star Olly Murs wrote that he was ‘absolutely gutted’.<\/p>\n

‘I had the honour of doing a boxing session with him last year we had a giggle, I loved hearing his stories, and spending time with one of the world\u2019s greatest boxers is a memory I\u2019ll cherish forever. Sending love to his family and friends \ud83d\udc94 A true legend inside and outside the ring \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffb\ud83d\ude1e’, his caption read.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hatton’s co-stars from his 2024 stint on Dancing On Ice reminisced on their time with him, as Adele Roberts posted: ‘Absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the news of Ricky\u2019s passing. Thinking of his family, friends right now and all who knew him.<\/p>\n

‘He was such an amazing man. Someone I have admired from afar for years and couldn\u2019t believe it when I got the chance to meet him.’<\/p>\n

She added: ‘He was everything I hoped he\u2019d be and more. So kind, funny, generous\u2026 his laughter and spirit filled the room\u2026 he had the heart of a champ and was FEARLESS. You will be sorely missed Ricky.’<\/p>\n

Olympian Greg Rutherford said he was ‘utterly starstruck’ upon meeting Hatton, having long been a big fan.<\/p>\n

‘Getting to know him the little bit I did, that kindness always shined through,’ he wrote. ‘We had a couple of chats about mental health and the battles he’d faced and I told him some things that I hadn’t told anyone else about my own battles. He had some amazing words of support and I will always be thankful for that.’<\/p>\n

Judge Oti Mabuse said on her Instagram Story: ‘My heart goes out to @rickyhitmanhatton. Kindest heart and sweetest man, was like a father to many celebs on DOI #RIP.’<\/p>\n

Professional skater Robin Johnstone, who was paired with Hatton on the programme, said she had woken up ‘devastated’ by the news, declaring Hatton a ‘dear friend’.<\/p>\n
